Safaricom and several money transfer services have partnered to enable sending money to mobile to different countries worldwide.

M-PESA Global is a service that enables M-PESA registered customers to send and receive money globally. With M-PESA Global, you can send money to an individual’s mobile numbers in different countries worldwide.

To send money to an individual phone number in a different country, you need to opt-in to M-PESA Global. You can opt-in to M-PESA Global through the M-PESA App and USSD *334#.

You can opt in via the following channels:

M-PESA App

• Download M-PESA App from Google Play Store or iOS App Store
• Launch the M-PESA App
• Log in using your M-PESA PIN
• On the navigation bar select Transact
• Select Global
• Select Continue
• Enter your
• Enter your M-PESA PIN

You will receive a successful opt-in SMS from Safaricom.

Via USSD *334#

• Dial *334#
• Select Send Money
• Select M-PESA Global
• Enter your physical location i.e., Safaricom House, Waiyaki Way
• Accept Terms and Conditions
• Enter your M-PESA PIN
• You will receive a successful opt-in SMS from Safaricom.

Eligibility

The Service is open to all active M-PESA registered users.

M-PESA customers will be able to send funds.

1. To East Africa: Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Botswana, and Burundi
2. Zambia and Malawi
3. To Asia: Bangladesh and Pakistan

M-PESA registered customers can also receive funds from abroad on their MPESA account
