Get SIM

Visit any Safaricom shop or dealer in your area, and a representative will assist you get a new SIM. Find Our Safaricom Shops.

Get Activated

Insert SIM in your handset and follow the prompts for Internet Settings or dial *544# and follow the prompts.

Buy Data

Dial *544# and follow the prompts to buy our No Expiry Date Data plans and enjoy our services

Get SIM

Restrict App background data

To restrict background data; Go to Settings >> Data Usage, and you can see the statistics for which app is consuming how much of data.

Update apps over Wi-Fi only

Go to Play Store and tap on Menu>>Settings >>Auto-update apps Then select “Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi only.” Keep an eye on your apps.

Save your data while on YouTube.

Open YouTube and look for the little cog on the bottom right-hand side of the video time bar. Click on it for the pop-up menu then select Quality. You will have options to choose from. 480p is a good balance between clarity and data load.

Save on Data while on Snapchat

Go to Snapchat Settings Open “Manage Additional Services” Select “Travel Mode”

Save Data on WhatsApp

Go to the “settings” section in your WhatsApp APP, choose “Data and Storage Usage, Select Media Auto Download option, select When Using Mobile Data and switch it to “No Media”. You can now enable low data usage for WhatsApp Calls.

Save Data while on Instagram

Open Instagram options, go to Settings then go to Account then mobile data use once there, tick Use Less Data.

Save Data while on Twitter

Go to your Twitter Profile icon. Click on Settings and Privacy Select Data Usage Set Video Autoplay to Never.
