About our Internship Program

The Safaricom Internship program brings passion and purpose together. This program gives young talent an opportunity to gain technical on-the-job skills and grow their soft skills. The exposure at Safaricom is also a huge plus as interns get direct exposure to employees from different fields. As interns are automatically added to the talent pool, they enjoy priority selection for new roles along with the rest of the staff.

After all the applications are received, screening must be done to ensure authenticity. Successful applications are based on a system that prioritizes average age and qualifications.

The program will run for 3–6 months.

You qualify for the internship if: You are in the 3rd or 4th year of your degree program. You have completed school and are awaiting graduation, or you have graduated within the last 12 months.

The number of selected candidates will vary depending on specific business needs.

The internship process involves several stages:

  1. 1. Screening: All applications are screened to ensure authenticity and prioritised based on year, average, age, and qualification.
  2. 2. Assessment: Selected applicants undergo an assessment that measures psychological, technical, and competency levels.
  3. 3. Selection: Based on the online assessment results, an internal shortlist is created to filter down to the required number of candidates.
  4. 4. Confirmation: Successful candidates will receive an email confirming their acceptance into the program for the year.

Job placement opportunities after the internships are dependent on the availability of positions and the candidate's skill set.
