Family Connect Bundle
This is a plan that aims at giving Safaricom customers (referred to as Sponsor) an opportunity to buy a monthly plan that enables them to share with their family or friends and call or SMS any network in Kenya at preferential rates.
By Dialing *444# and select the plan as per their communication needs.
- A sponsor is the customer that buys the plans.
- All Airtime amount sits on the sponsors wallet. The beneficiary will directly use airtime from the sponsor’s family connect balance amount and there will be no balance movement from sponsor to beneficiary.
- A sponsor can share the airtime with others-Referred to as Beneficiaries up to 5 users based on the package they have purchased.
- Beneficiaries enjoy the discounted rates based on the Sponsor’s Plan.
- Sponsors can also choose to use the Airtime alone without sharing.
- A beneficiary shall only use their allocation from the sponsor’s line if the sponsor account has recourses in the Family connect account.
- The Sponsor can utilize all the amount including shared allocations to beneficiaries since all amount sits with the Sponsor.
- The Sponsor will also be able to remove beneficiaries and check their balance.

The plans are valid for 30days from the date of purchase. There is no rollover.
Yes. The Sponsor gets the full Airtime Amount as per the plan bought. Please note that there is no Proration.
Sponsor can buy the plans via: M-PESA, Airtime, Okoa or Fuliza.
No, Family connect airtime can only be used for Local off net and on net Calls, SMS, and international calls. For international calling, the prevailing international calling rates will apply.
Yes, sponsors/customers purchasing the plans, they will get a notification to first pay their OKOA loan after which they can purchase.
Should a sponsor require a different plan, all they need to do is purchase it by dialing *444# and choose Family connect option.
Kindly note:
- Sponsor can only downgrade when they have exhausted their current family connect Airtime.
- Sponsor can upgrade to a higher bundle anytime and enjoy the discounted rate on that plan immediately

No. This is because the Family connect Airtime is highly discounted, and the Premium Rate Services are priced higher. Advise the sponsor/Beneficiary to Top Up should they wish to utilize those services.
Yes. By Dial *444*, then select “Remove Beneficiary” option and Select the Beneficiary they intend to Remove.
No. The plan does not allow Sambaza airtime. The plan only allows sharing amount with selected beneficiaries by allocating them a limit.
By dialing USSD code *444* and selecting the “Check Balance” option.
No. The Beneficiary is currently not able to check their balance. The Sponsor can however check balance for beneficiaries under their Plan.
Shorter validity Airtime are used first. Example, if a sponsor has a 24hour Airtime validity, that will be used before the 30day Family connect Airtime.

The International Calling is supported, and Normal international calling rates apply for all other countries.
Yes. Customers can top-up their line with normal airtime and buy other data or Minutes bundles via *544# or *444#
