The following terms and conditions apply to Safaricom FREE Google Maps Giga 2GB Bundles promotion (“the Promotion”) and by purchasing the FREE Google Maps Giga 2GB data bundle, you will be deemed to have read, understood and accepted the same: -

1.The Promotion

This Promotion seeks to award eligible Safaricom subscribers who purchase Giga 2GB data bundles with Free Google maps for every purchase.

2. Eligibility

The Free Google Maps bundle on 2GB Giga product is open to all Safaricom Individual Pre-Pay and Post-pay subscribers and its available on MySafaricomApp and Web.

3. How to enjoy the offer

For eligible subscribers to enjoy FREE Google Maps, you will be required to purchase the Giga 2GB data bundle @Kshs, 100/=. To do so, please proceed as follows:

  1. Go to your MySafaricomApp or to www.safaricom.com/bundles.
  2. Select the 2GB data bundle offer from Tunukiwa / Special offers
  3. Complete your purchase using Airtime
  4. Upon successful purchase, you will receive a notification informing you of the offer to enjoy FREE Google Maps with your purchase

4. Free Google Maps and validity

You will enjoy Free Google maps up to 100MB FUP, valid for twenty-four (24) hours from the time of purchasing the 2GB Giga bundle offer.

5. Privacy

The following segmented offers are available:

  1. Definition: “Personal Information” means personal identifiable information as prescribed in the Data Protection Act which includes but is not limited to name, address, phone number, identification number, location data.
  2. Collection of information: We are required by law to collect certain personal information and are legally obligated to deny you the Promotion if such information is not availed. Apart from the legal obligation mentioned above, we also need to collect your Personal Information for quality service delivery. Please note that although this is voluntary, without such information we may not be able to provide a quality Promotion.
  3. Privacy: We are committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of the information we collect from you. Our privacy statement, as updated from time to time, explains how we treat your personal information, who we share your information with and measures taken protect your privacy when you use our services. This can be found on Safaricom Data Privacy Statement. If unable to access the link or our website, please reach us on any of our customer care channels to receive a copy.
  4. Minors: When registering a minor as a subscriber, a person with parental authority may open and maintain a mobile number in their name for and on behalf of the minor. For purposes of this agreement, a person with parental authority shall include the birth parents of a minor, legal guardian or other person who can demonstrate legitimate authority over the minor’s affairs

6. Validity

The data bundles listed in the table above is valid for thirty (30) days and will expire on the anniversary date of your last payment. Unused data bundles resources will not roll over.

7. Priority of Use

Priority of data bundle consumption will be as follows:

  • Lower validity bundles i.e. hourlies, daily and/or weekly bundles
  • Monthly validity bundles that includes the 5G CVM monthly bundles
  • Out of bundle or Time-based Tariff

8. Other Terms

  • The 5G data bundles can be used on 2G/3G/4G/5G network.
  • You cannot transfer (sambaza) the 5G data bundles to another Safaricom subscriber or device.
  • To enjoy 5G connectivity, ensure you are connected to the Safaricom 5G network, are in a 5G area with a 5G device.
  • You can use the 5G data bundle for tethering.
  • To check your data bundles, please dial *544# and follow the prompts.
  • All other existing rules relating to the Safaricom mobile data services are applicable

10. Amendment of these Terms

Any update or amendment to these Terms and Conditions including privacy terms will be available on the Safaricom website - www.safaricom.co.ke and will take effect from the date of notification of the update or amendment.

11. Extension of Terms

  1. Save as modified above, these Terms and Conditions are supplemental to and subject to the published Safaricom Prepay Terms and Conditions and other Services that you may be using.
  2. Safaricom reserves the right to amend or vary these terms and conditions or to withdraw the Promotion at any time. In any of these events, notice will be given via SMS to the eligible subscribers and will be effective immediately or as at the date referred in such notifications.
  3. These Terms and Conditions are available at www.safaricom.co.ke.
