Pay for Your Restaurant Bills With M-PESA

Eat Out Kenya, Kopo Kopo and Safaricom's Partnership 

Eat Out Kenya is set to enter into a promising business partnership with Kopo Kopo and Safaricom's M-PESA services. The partnership, which is scheduled to officially launch on the 16th April this year, will enable restaurant patrons to conveniently pay their bills via M-PESA. 

Since inception in 2010, Eat Out has become the largest online restaurant guide and booking engine in Kenya. In 2012, Eat Out sat over 100,000 diners at hundreds of restaurants, generating over Ksh. 200 million in revenue for its restaurant clients. 

Kopo Kopo launched its service in Kenya in March 2012. They are the official partner of Safaricom and offer a service that enables small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to accept payments via M-PESA Buy Goods at a rate of 1.5% per transaction. 

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore said that, "This partnership will afford restaurant owners the opportunity to attract a vast number of clientele as well as process their payment by the seconds." 

Kopo Kopo is the first company to offer this service in conjunction with Safaricom and currently serves thousands of businesses throughout Kenya. "We are very excited about the partnership with Safaricom and Eat Out as it gives Kenya's leading restaurants a chance to accept electronic payments at the best rate in Kenya" Dylan Higgins, CEO Kopo Kopo.
