Building a Circular Economy

Consistent with the principles of the circular economy, we focus on the inverted pyramid of waste management. In keeping with SDG12: Responsible Consumption and Production and our commitment to the circular economy, we continued with our integrated waste and e-waste recycling programme in partnership with Takataka Solutions & Weee Center.

Our Targets

  • Recycle/repurpose 100% of our solid waste by 2025
  • Zero single use plastics from our operations by 2025
  • 20% annual growth in E-Waste collected
  • Recycle, Reuse or Resale of 100% our network waste by 2025.

Progress

Recycle/repurpose 100% of our solid waste by 2025

We are currently recycling 98% of our solid waste and it has been facilitated through employee solid waste management sensitization initiatives. Which so far, we have trained over 800 retail and data center employees.

Zero single use plastics from our operations by 2025

From the last quarter of 2019 to date we, have so far banned single use plastic cups, carrier/packaging plastic bags, and plastic drinking straws from all our facilities. This has been substituted by reusable carrier bags, cups/glass.
