Safaricom Supports Mosques Water Projects Initiatives
Tuesday 10th June 2014…50 mosques drawn from all over the country have today received KES 3.7 million from Safaricom Limited to install water tanks at a ceremony attended by 50 Imams representing all the mosques.
This is in fulfillment of a pledge made by the Telco during its engagements with members of the Islamic faith during last year’s Ramadhan engagements
Speaking during the cheque handover ceremony, Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore made special mention of the amplification of charity and compassion during the holy month of Ramadhan.
“Our engagement with the Islamic community is resultant from our mutual desire to transform and better the lives of the communities within which we live. It is our desire to continue with these engagements and indeed deepen our ties with all our brothers and sisters who profess the Islamic faith,” said Safaricom CEO, Bob Collymore.
Safaricom has pledged to continue its Ramadhan engagements into this year.
