About 1,800 residents in Nyamira County have benefited from a medical camp hosted by the M-PESA Foundation at Menyenya Primary School in partnership with Zuri Health and Lion Sight First Eye Hospital.

At the camp, an array of services was available, including eye care consultations, breast cancer screening, dental care, general doctor consultations, and women’s health.

“This medical camp marked the culmination of a week-long series of activities in the Greater Western region, celebrating and spreading Christmas cheer to our customers through the Sambaza Furaha campaign. We were delighted to see many people coming to take advantage of the free medical checkups we are offering. As we celebrate, we still recognize our role in transforming lives through health,” said Peter Ndegwa, CEO, Safaricom PLC.

The camp marked the Foundation’s 20th medical camp in the second phase of the initiative, where over 33,000 individuals have benefited from essential medical services across counties such as Nairobi, Siaya, Migori, Kajiado, Nakuru, Bomet, Kisii, Bungoma, Kericho, Migori, Muranga, Turkana, Tharaka Nithi and Machakos.

At the camps, 24 patients suffering from diabetes and hypertension received free medication for 24 months. During the camp, 24 patients were registered and onboarded onto SHA to receive free medical cover for one year.
