Clarification On Payments For Job Openings At Safaricom
Safaricom has noted with concern calls and messages to members of the public inviting them to job interviews at Safaricom, and asking them to make payments to facilitate the same. We would like to make the following clarification:
- All open vacancies are listed on the career portal on our website at www.safaricom.co.ke/careers. All job applications must be made through this portal.
- Safaricom never requested anyone to send money for interviews.
- We have launched investigations into the matter and are working with the police on this. The MPESA Paybill number involved in this issue has been suspended.
- Members of the public who have been conducted in regards to this issue are requested to report the matter to the police to facilitate investigations.
- Safaricom remains committed to transparency and assures all job applicants of guidelines set to ensure the process remains open and fair.
