The DigiFarm USSD Farmer Platform is a mobile service designed to empower farmers with access to crucial information, services, and support directly through their mobile phones using USSD technology.

To register, simply dial *944# from your mobile phone and follow the steps.

After dialling *944#, you will be guided through the registration process step by step.

Upon dialing *944#, you will be asked to review and accept the terms and conditions of using the USSD Farmer Platform. Please read these carefully before proceeding.

You will be asked to enter your national ID number and select your region from a list of options from region level, county, sub-county to ward level.

Selecting your region helps us provide you with location-specific information, services, and support tailored to your farming needs and challenges.

After selecting your region, you will be prompted to indicate your farming activity, under categories such as cash crops, livestock, etc.

Farming activities represent different sectors of agriculture, such as crops, livestock, fisheries, etc. Selecting your farming activity helps us deliver tailored relevant information and services.

To opt into the DigiFarm loan product, dial *944# from your mobile phone and follow the prompts.

Upon dialling *944#, select the option for Loans then proceed to “Loan Opt In" and follow the subsequent prompts to complete the opt-in process.

Yes, After the farmer Opt Into loan product, farmers will be scored, and a loan limit will be communicated to them. Factors such as your farming activities, repayment history, and creditworthiness may be considered.

Immediately after Opting into loan services the farmer can check their loan limit depending on loan availability for your farming activity and region. To utilize the loan limit the farmer will be directed on where to access the farm inputs and services.

There are two loan repayment options available for DigiFarm loans.

• Farmer can repay their loans using M-PESA through *944# USSD by following repayment steps.
• DigiFarm can recover loans from the sale of farmer produce Repayment options through the buyer or cooperative.

Loan amounts will be subject to eligibility criteria and assessment of your farming activities and creditworthiness. Please follow the prompts during the opt-in process for more information on available loan amounts.

Yes, you can opt out of the loan product at any time by following the prompts within the DigiFarm *944# USSD platform ONLY after clearing all existing loans.

No, DigiFarm USSD Platform is a Free dial services provided to our farmers. However, accessing Loans, advisory services provided by the platform has some applicable fees and charges.

Yes, if your mobile phone supports USSD technology and is connected to Safaricom mobile network, you can access the USSD Farmer Platform.

The platform supports English and Kiswahili languages to cater to the diverse farming communities. You will be prompted to select your preferred language during the registration process.
