Dr. Kandie is a finance specialist with over 20 years of strategic leadership and management experience in senior leadership positions in the financial services industry. She is currently the Director, Parastatal Reforms (Financial) at the National Treasury and Planning, where she leads Parastatal Reforms that are geared towards reducing fiscal pressures by making public spending more efficient and transparent.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University  of Nairobi, a Masters of Business Administration from Murdoch University in Western Australia and a Doctorate in Business Administration (Finance) from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. Dr Karen Kandie is also a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Investment and Financial Analyst. She is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Kenya) and the Institute of Investment and Financial Analysts of Kenya.
