The Foundation has collaborated with Zuri Health and Lion Sight First Eye Hospital and has so far conducted free medical camps in 9 counties

Nairobi, 26th November 2023

Over 3000 residents in Meru County benefited from a medical camp organized by M-PESA Foundation in collaboration with Zuri Health and Lion Sight First Eye Hospital at Mitunguu Primary School. The Foundation also distributed Mama Packs to women at Kanyakine Sub-County Hospital in its efforts to support maternal and child health.

The services offered at the camp included eye care consultations, breast cancer screening, Fistula screening, general doctor consultations, diabetes screening, hypertension monitoring and child health consultations. Patients then receive a six-months free medical consultation through SMS code 40815 and WhatsApp service with certified doctors from Zuri Health.

“We have been incorporating technology in our free medical camps to provide patients with necessary follow-up care after the medical camps. We use the platforms to provide patients with health education and self-care tips to help them manage their health more effectively,” said Nicholas Ng’ang’a, Chairman, M-PESA Foundation.

In May, the M-PESA Foundation launched the medical camp programme in partnership with Zuri Health and Lion Sight First Eye Hospital. This is the 9th medical camp since it was launched in Lamu County with residents in Nairobi, Kakamega, Machakos, Narok, Kisumu and Trans-Nzoia and Nyandarua counties accessing medical care in the programme which targets 60,000 Kenyans in all 47 counties.
